My favorite type of Media

My favorite type of media is photography because it is an interesting way to tell a story. Without words and within the view of the photographer, even if the photo means nothing to the viewer there is something behind it that has a personal meaning to the photographer. I have been taking a digital photography class this semester so within our assignments we have had to become comfortable in telling a story in a photograph. The thing I find most difficult in this class is writing a statement about the photograph I took but I don't know why this is so difficult. I obviously took this photo for a reason but what can I write about it?

    "Because I thought it would be interesting" just doesn't get it, does it?

    Telling a story in an image or a collection of images is what transforms photography into an artform. As with other forms of art, the artist should have an intent. But also as with other forms, the viewer is free to make his or her own interpretations.

    I like nature abstract photography. Here are a few shots from a recent trip to Maine.
